What does a backend engineer do at Drivy?

You would join the engineering team (8 brilliant people!) and take on many challenges, such as:

  • Improving our search algorithm (matching supply and demand) to improve our search-to-book conversion
  • Scaling our payments infrastructure
  • Designing and implementing new API endpoints for our native apps (iPhone/Android)
  • Detecting and preventing fraud
  • Monitoring and scaling our platform and tools
  • Implementing new features for our end users to enjoy

We’re building a marketplace that will scale to millions of users in many different countries in coming years. You can imagine that there will also be many challenging problems that we haven’t even though of yet!

What about your tech stack?

We all care a lot about code quality and spend time monitoring, refactoring and reviewing code to be able to keep on shipping features without taking on too much technical debt. With this in mind, we created a solid codebase using:

  • Ruby on Rails 4.2 with Ruby 2.2
  • MySQL, Redis and Memcached to store things
  • Lots of Rspec and Capybara/PhantomJS tests plugged into a CI to ship quickly
  • Backbone and React for the front
  • An agile mindset allowing us to push to production multiple times a day
  • Heroku and RDS to deploy everything

Skills and experience that we are looking for

  • Shipped and maintained code in production
  • Extensive experience with a MVC web framework like Rails
  • Proficient in at least one object-oriented language, ideally Ruby
  • Experience with a relational database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Great communication skills, works well within a team

Everyday, thousands of Drivy’s cars are on the road and new users sign up to the service! Drivy’s business is growing at an unprecedented pace and you will be an essential part of the team. Your contribution is at the very core of our success.

Drivy’s customer service team is at the front line to ensure customer satisfaction and an outstanding customer experience.
On a day to day basis, the team is in charge of all the relationships with our customers: they support car owners and renters with all the questions they have using the service. Our agents engage with them with a friendly and open attitude and happy to provide useful assistance to users in all rental situations (car accidents, cars breakdown, user disputes…). Our agents deal with all stress levels and welcome the opportunity to show all users the quality of our top notch customer service.

As Drivy is expanding internationally, we are looking for a German native speaking agent that will be responsible for and take care of our very first German customers. You are the first German speaking addition to the team and will have an impact from day one.

You will start in our excellent customer service team of 7 based in our Headquarters in Paris and will have the chance to learn from the very best agents in the field. You will be the first person to assist both French and German customers by email and by phone.

The position is opened in our Paris main office, but you should be open to a move to Berlin in the long run. Based on business’ necessities we might want to build our Customer Support team in Berlin from the ground up and you can be part of it.

Country Manager Spain (Madrid)

Country manager position

You are the first team member in Spain, you open our office in Madrid (start in co-working space or equivalent), coordinate with Paris HQ and build a team around you of 2-3 top profiles to quickly grow Drivy usage locally.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Product localization: Translate apps into spanish and own the whole content, so that it feels local to your customers. Adapt the service to local specificities.
  • Communication: Create interesting content, push it to journalists to get a great press coverage. Network with influencers. Build and engage your community.
  • Business development: Set-up partnerships and deals to generate visibility.

You are in charge of designing evolutions of our product and making our customers happy.
You work on everything: web, mobile web, native iPhone/Android apps.

Anyone at Drivy can suggest product improvements — including you. We crave for new great ideas to improve the user experience.
Once an idea has been agreed upon, your role is to:

  • understand customer needs
  • engineer the most simple and elegant solution. You need to design the way it works, and also create the content: wording / copywriting is part of the deliverables

Communications Hero

The Job

  • Based at our head office in Paris 11th
  • Scope : mainly France, but also working in coordination with foreign offices (Berlin for now)

Drivy has already built a great community and public awareness, we now want to scale our communications efforts to keep accelerating. That’s why we need one more great contributor, you ! You will work in duo with our Comms Manager Camille on these main subjects :

  • Create and publish great content : blog articles, videos and pictures about our service, our startup, urban mobility, sharing economy, you name it. Tell stories and push them to the right people.
  • Community management : maintain a lively link with our great community through social networks, our blog, newsletters, events and more.
  • Set up operations with bloggers.

Votre mission : maximiser la visibilité de Drivy dans les moteurs de recherche, en France et à l’international (Allemagne, + Espagne & UK prévus pour 2015). Vous définissez la stratégie SEO de Drivy, et vous la mettez en application. Après un audit de l’existant, vous travaillez notamment sur :

  • Gestion de projet SEO pour préparer les lancements de pays
  • Optimisation on page (Technique & Editorial)
  • Optimisation du maillage interne (Analyse du crawl / des logs)
  • Mise en place de la stratégie de contenu, création de contenus SEO
  • Mise en place de la stratégie de netlinking
  • Suivi des résultats, reporting
  • Veille SEO

C’est également à vous de faire en sorte que le SEO soit au coeur des préoccupations de chaque département, notamment Product / Tech (en anticipant et optimisant l’impact SEO de chaque nouvelle feature) et Communication (en faisant en sorte de maximiser les retombées SEO de chacune de nos prises de parole).
